Classes
Member and Public Classes
We offer two types of classes; dojo member and public classes.
Dojo Member Classes are for those interested in a traditional practice of aikido with regular classes and participation in the community of the dojo. At present, membership dues for joining the dojo are $50 a month. This amount helps cover rent, insurance and affiliation with international and national organizations. Teachers in the dojo are volunteers and are not paid.
Public Classes are theme based, usually one time events focused on a particular aspect of martial arts such as being centered, meditative movements or breathing techniques. They are offered at various times during the year and are open to the public.
For more information about either dojo or public classes, email dojo@austinkiaikido.org.

Ki-Kenpo (氣劍法) (The Art of Sword with Ki) Study Group
Dojo members are welcome in all classes regardless of their level of practice. We have beginners who attend all or most of the classes on both Saturdays and Wednesdays. While the class descriptions say Intermediate or Advanced, we adjust depending on who is in the class. Classes are small which allows us to teach to multiple levels at the same time. Class descriptions provide an idea of the content of the class. We adjust the level of intermediate and advanced techniques and movements so that as a beginner you are comfortable performing them.
